Some of you who knew me 5 years ago may remember that I lost a bunch of weight ~ probably 15-20 lbs. I was counting my calories and training for races. I ran in a 5k race every month so I would have to keep training. I counted my calories and limited myself to 1200 calories a day-essentially starving myself. Some days, I was only at 900 calories by the end of the day and I'd have a bowl of cereal before bed just to get closer. It didn't matter what I ate. I just plugged it in to my app and tracked my calories. I was thin, but I wasn't healthy.

I was able to maintain that for about a year. Slowly, the weight just started creeping back because I wasn't doing it the right way. Life happened. Fast forward to 2 years ago. I accepted a new teaching job that meant picking up and moving 1 week before school started AND, I was going to be single parenting for awhile. I had been blessed to be able to stay home with my kids part-time for the previous 7 years. I never worked full-time with 2 kids and there was always Matt to help me. Now, I didn't have time to work full-time, and make a healthy dinner and chauffeur the kids (bless you, single parents). We ate what was easy-prepackaged, processed, boxed foods, fast food. I didn't work out. By the end of 2015, I had gained almost 40 pounds. I was miserable. My clothes didn't fit. I was tired. I was embarrassed. More importantly, I was sick of where I was.
I had previously done many Beachbody workouts and Sarah (a fellow Beachbody coach) and I have been friends for awhile so I was familiar with the company. In March 2016, I bought the 22 Minute Hard Corps challenge pack from her and joined her challenge group. In 8 weeks, I lost 15 pounds. I was eating healthy and working out and I felt great. I didn't count a single calorie. In fact, I was eating more than I did when I WAS counting! I just chose healthier foods.
She asked me about becoming a coach. As a PE teacher, I do see the need for people to become healthier and understand why that is important. I became a coach not only because I believe in the product and love what it's done for me, but also to show others that it can be done. I'm not doing this for applause or because I want recognition. I want to help people. If I can be an encouragement to someone to get their life on track and take that first step towards becoming a healthier person, I have succeeded. It's not about what I sell or how successful I can be in the business. I care about you, my friends and family, and I want to give you the tools to become a healthier you.
