Some of you who knew me 5 years ago may remember that I lost a bunch of weight ~ probably 15-20 lbs. I was counting my calories and training for races. I ran in a 5k race every month so I would have to keep training. I counted my calories and limited myself to 1200 calories a day-essentially starving myself. Some days, I was only at 900 calories by the end of the day and I'd have a bowl of cereal before bed just to get closer. It didn't matter what I ate. I just plugged it in to my app and tracked my calories. I was thin, but I wasn't healthy.
